Do You Have Salon Boundaries?

Is the reason you are not implementing changes into your salon due to the fact that you don’t want to have your employees angry with you?

If your employees are angry with you for challenging them to do better by setting new guidelines, implementing new service procedures to improve customer service or because you are asking them to reach new goals in their position, then I say GOOD! It means you are shaking things up,taking care of yourself and your business. As long as when you lay down the law you do it with diplomacy, respect and grace you have every right to change the way you run your salon.

Your employees do not get the whole picture of why you choose to do things nor are they expected to. Your responsibility to your employees lies in taking care of business constructively so they have a place to work and to create an environment that supports their growth. You cannot do this while simultaneously taking care of their feelings.

When you decide that the salon’s best interest and your primary aim is more important than your employees “liking you”, a boundary has been set in your business.

The thing is, when you set a boundary you cannot take care of other people’s feelings. Also when you set a boundary you cannot be responsible for others reactions. This can make it difficult to stay solid in your decisions but you will get used to it. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.

What I can tell you is that by connecting with others and sharing your experience, ideas and strength you do not have to go it alone. Let me and my Mastermind Members be your support and motivators while you are putting your business boundaries in place. Click her to learn more.
