Salon Owners Stuck In A Rut

If you're a salon owner who has years of experience as a technician, is operating their business with contentment but at the same time wondering why your salon isn't growing based on your talent and experience, you may not be seeing today's beauty industry through the eyes of the employee. We are part of an industry where experience means nothing except that you've been around a long time. If you aren't consistently educating yourself both technically and professionally you may see yourself moving backwards or at best standing still.

Senior technicians who have achieved great levels of success are looking to the companies that employ them to help them build futures and to be invested in financially and personally.

The youth are graduating beauty school more technically prepared and with the skills and knowledge of what it takes to make it in this industry. They are seeking companies that promise them a career not a job and if they can't find the right employer, they become one and with their background in research, comfort with technology and the vitality of youth, they are reaching higher levels of success much quicker!

Am I alone in this observation; not at all. I have been working with beauty suppliers across Canada and they report  that many of their accounts are struggling and are at risk of going out of business. They ask for help are given options but in the end don't take it.

So don't get caught stuck in the past, doing the same things and expecting different results. Take the courses that will improve your leadership skills, teach you how to grow your business and most importantly invest in your people.
